The newly formed task force will be led by former New York City Police Commissioner, Bernie B. Kerik.

Kaspar said, “Defunding the Police is a dangerous idea that will make our communities less safe. By fixing what is wrong and supporting what is working, we can strengthen our communities, and I will collaborate with local officials, law enforcement officers, and other community leaders across the 6th District as a partner in keeping our communities safe.”

Additionally, Kaspar said, if elected, he would form a bipartisan coalition of Republican and Democrat representatives in Congress to, “force Blue state governors to enforce the law and prosecute all perpetrators of violent crimes.”

Commissioner Kerik will advise the Kaspar campaign on ways to significantly reduce crime and bring much needed resources into the district by crafting a federal blueprint to help communities under siege. Kerik led the largest police force in the country and worked alongside Mayor Rudy Giuliani to significantly reduce crime.

Kerik said, “Mayor Giuliani and I worked side-by-side to enforce the laws in New York City and to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. I look forward to working with Scott Kaspar and his campaign to craft the action plan that Scott will bring to Congress to deter and prevent crime on Day 1.”

The Task Force will announce additional members in the coming weeks.
